A month ago, a well-known insider and dataminer Kurakasis reported that Square Enix and Chinese corporation Tencent are preparing a mobile version of the popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.

The Japanese developer has not yet confirmed this information, but thanks to the regulatory body of China it became known that it is true.

Here's What We Know

China's National Press and Publication Administration has approved 15 foreign games and granted them licences for release in the country. Among them was Final Fantasy XIV Mobile, which is being developed by Square Enix and Lightspeed Studios.

Details of the game remain unknown, but it is likely that a special version of FFXIV will be released on mobile devices, which will be a separate game, rather than an adapted version for MS and consoles.

In addition to Final Fantasy XIV Mobile, Chinese authorities have approved mobile Dynasty Warriors 8, Rainbow Six (likely also for mobile devices), Marvel Snap, Marvel Rivals, Mario Golf: Super Rush, and Paper Mario: The Origami King.
