In his Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman confirmed that new Mac models with the M4 chip are planned for release later this year. Gurman noted that the MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro will receive the M4 update in 2025.

Here's What We Know

The last update of the MacBook Pro and iMac took place in October last year, when Apple introduced M3 chips. The MacBook Pro received a new Space Black finish and a cheaper entry-level model, while the 24-inch iMac remained almost unchanged, although the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard accessories still use Lightning.

With this year's new update, a well-known insider expects the introduction of new M4 chips. However, he also mentions a possible redesign of one of the Mac models. This could be the case for the Mac Pro, which was last updated in 2022 with a 2019 design, or the Mac mini, which hasn't changed since 2010.

New Mac models with M4 chips are expected to impress users not only with their power but also with possible design changes.
