Valve is one of the most influential gaming companies in the world, but its new projects are released so rarely that each of them becomes an important event.

For more than fifteen years gamers have been dreaming about the full-fledged third part of Half-Life series, but so far there were only rumours, speculations and leaked information from dubious sources.

But, perhaps, the long-awaited game is still being developed.

Here's What We Know

Attentive web users found on the website of actress Natasha Chandel, who worked on Starfield, Apex Legends and a number of other AAA games, mention of some game called White Sands by Valve. After the information became public, the actress removed the mention of the project, but the screenshots, of course, remained.

Of course, many people (once again) had a hope that White Sands is the codename of Half-Life 3.

More information has been brought by blogger and insider Tyler McVicker. He claims that the information from the actress refers to HLX, a game that is mentioned in the source code of other Valve projects. According to McVicker, it will be a single-player game in the Half-Life universe, which has been in development for more than four years, and White Sands is another code name of the project.

That said, other sources indicate that HLX is a co-operative game based on procedural generation, which clashes weakly with the concept of a single-player story-driven project.
