Samsung has patented a smartphone with a form factor like the LG Wing
Samsung continues to experiment with new form factors for its devices. Recently, a patent was discovered on the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) website that shows a device that resembles the LG Wing.
Here's What We Know
According to the patent, the smartphone will feature a swivelling screen that can rotate to reveal a second display at the bottom. In addition, the device will be able to bend thanks to a hinge mechanism. The patent images also show a camera at the top right corner, charging port, microphone and speakers at the bottom of the device.
This patent is part of Samsung's efforts to develop new display technologies. The company has previously filed patents for smartphones with triple foldable screens and has been working on foldable display technology. However, none of these innovative devices have made it to the market yet.
The new patent doesn't guarantee that the device will be available soon, as Samsung often files patents to protect its ideas for the future. Only time will tell if we will see another device similar to the LG Wing.
