"Trust us" - Bloober Team head asks gamers not to be prejudiced against Silent Hill 2 remake and not to jump to conclusions
Horror fans were encouraged by the announcement of Silent Hill 2 remake, but after the publication of a number of trailers, many gamers were disappointed with the updated game from Bloober Team and criticised almost all its elements.
Konami is in no hurry to refute the claims of gamers and keeps silence, but instead of the Japanese it was tried to do it by the head of Bloober Team Peter Babeno.
Here's What We Know
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the head of the Polish studio said that he understands the sceptical mood of the public and is aware of the level of responsibility, because Silent Hill 2 is one of the most famous and beloved horror games in the history of video games.
However, Babeno is asking Silent Hill fans to trust the Bloober Team and judge the end result rather than small demos and trailers, many of which do not reflect the actual quality of the remake.
The director of Bloober Team said that his team is approaching the source material with full responsibility and doesn't want to disappoint gamers:
I want players to trust us. But I realise that trust has to be earned through deeds, not words. That's why we didn't talk much about the development of the project and didn't make any unnecessary promises. We wanted the final work to speak for us. And now we hope that you will give us a chance.
Peter Babeno noted that the developers listen to constructive criticism and often correct the mentioned defects. As an example, he called slightly improved appearance of the main character of Silent Hill 2, who in the first trailers seemed much older than in the original game.
When We Can Expect It
Silent Hill 2 Remake will be released on 8 October 2024 on PC and PlayStation 5.
