Huawei introduces nova Flip, the company's first affordable foldable smartphone

Huawei has announced a new foldable smartphone, this time of the mid-segment - nova Flip. This is the first foldable model in this line.

Here's What We Know

The novelty is equipped with a main 6.94-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. On the outside, there is a 2.14-inch OLED display that can be used as a viewfinder for the main camera and for running apps like weather and music. The device is just 6.88mm thick when unfolded and weighs 195 grams.

The smartphone features a 50-megapixel main camera with RYYB sensor and f/1.9 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 32-megapixel front camera. Huawei has not revealed the chipset and RAM capacity, but the nova Flip is believed to be powered by a Kirin 8000 chip. The device runs HarmonyOS 4.2, offering artificial intelligence features such as an object removal tool, text selection from images and image generation.

The Nova Flip features a 4400mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. The smartphone will be available in four colours: green, pink, white and black. Prices start at 5,288 yuan ($744) for the 256GB storage model, 512GB for 5,688 yuan ($798) and the 1TB storage model will cost 6,488 yuan ($911). It is scheduled to start selling in China on 10 August.
