Germany has provided the Moldovan border police with 485 Ukrainian-made FurSeal boats and 38 off-road vehicles.

Here's What We Know

The handover ceremony took place in the presence of Interior Minister Adrian Efros, German Ambassador Margrethe Maria Webber and Border Police Chief Ruslan Galushka.

Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros stressed that these new vehicles will significantly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the border guard forces, especially in the most dangerous areas of the state border.

The material assistance received - 38 Dacia Duster vehicles and 5 FurSeal boats - will be rationally distributed among various border police units. This will help ensure that patrols operate in critical areas.

These boats are manufactured by FurSeal, a Ukrainian company specialising in the production of aluminium vessels. They are characterised by high sea performance and special equipment adapted to the needs of Moldovan border guards.

Thanks to aerators and two consoles, these vessels can accommodate up to four people, making them ideal for water patrols. The basic equipment of the ships includes a welded aluminium-magnesium alloy hull.
