Poland will gain the competence to independently maintain and repair US AH-64E Apache attack helicopters.

Here's What We Know

On Monday, 5 August, the Ministry of Defence of Poland and the Armaments Agency signed two offset agreements to develop national capabilities in the field of support, repair and maintenance of key components of AH-64E helicopters.

The first agreement was signed between the Arms Agency and Boeing, covering seven commitments worth more than $100 million. As part of this agreement, the Polish aircraft factory WZL-1 in Łódź will be able to carry out comprehensive inspections, repairs and overhauls of individual components of AH-64E helicopters.

In addition, Poland will be able to train AH-64E maintenance personnel and assess the condition of the helicopter's ground infrastructure.

The second agreement with General Electric, worth more than $135 million, will allow WZL-1 in Dęblin to maintain turboprop engines used not only in Apache helicopters but also in other models such as the AW101, AW149 and S-70i Black Hawk.

General Electric will provide the necessary technology to enable the plant to perform maintenance and repair of the T-700-701D, CT7-2E1 and CT7-8E engines.
