Spanish army orders half a million 155 mm projectile rounds from Rheinmetall

Rheinmetall will supply the Spanish army with about half a million modular projectile charges for 155 mm long-range artillery ammunition.

The framework agreement worth $223 million will run from mid-2024 to the end of 2025, including a two-year extension option with a corresponding increase in value.

Ammunition for the 155mm M109 and SIAC howitzers is being purchased to replenish the Spanish army's ammunition stocks, which were depleted due to donations to the war in Ukraine.

It is worth noting that Spain's recent purchases of Rheinmetall products include mortars and 155mm artillery ammunition in April and March. Both deals will be completed by 2025.
