Apple launches iOS 18 Beta 5: key changes
Apple has unveiled the fifth beta of iOS 18 for developers, with a few important changes.
Here's What We Know
The Photos app now has a new layout that removes the Carousel view, as well as new customisation and reordering options for managing photo collections.
iOS 18 Beta 5 adds 2GB of memory and a modem update to improve connectivity. Safari has a new "Distraction Control" feature that lets you hide annoying pop-up ads.
There's a new page editing option on the home screen. The icons for the Maps and Latitude apps have been updated, dark mode search has been tweaked, and the icons in the Control Centre now have a more transparent look.
The new software releases also include bug fixes and general improvements. Apple reminds you that it is not recommended to install beta versions on major devices and you should always back up your data before installing.
