Sonos delays launch of two products due to software issues
Sonos has been forced to postpone the launch of two new products scheduled for the fourth quarter due to an unsuccessful app redesign. The company's CEO, Patrick Spence, noted that the priority now is to fix the problems with the app that customers and partners have encountered.
Here's What We Know
In a press release on third-quarter earnings, Spence explained that Sonos has reduced its financial plans for 2024 due to these issues. Despite the increase in profits, thanks to the launch of the new Ace headphones, the problems with the app overshadowed the company's achievements.
Spence emphasised that Sonos has a clear action plan to resolve these issues quickly.
The company did not disclose which products will be postponed. However, according to Bloomberg, Sonos is working on a streaming set-top box for TVs and a successor to the premium Arc soundbar.
The cost of fixing problems with the app will cost the company $20-30 million. The CEO is confident that Sonos will recover and continue its successful development.
