OnePlus has unveiled a new version of its OnePlus Open foldable smartphone called Apex Edition. The novelty is made in Crimson Shadow colour and has a faux leather back panel.

Here's What We Know

Apex Edition is equipped with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of inbuilt storage. The device also gets an updated notification slider with a textured finish and orange accent.

What makes the Apex Edition special is the VIP mode, which allows the user to remain incognito by disabling cameras, microphone and location when the slider is moved to the top position. OnePlus claims that this is achieved through chip-level encryption and enhanced privacy.

The OnePlus Open has a 6.3-inch OLED LTPO outer as well as a 7.8-inch AMOLED LTPO inner display. Both support 120Hz and a peak brightness of 2800 nits. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, has a 48+64+48MP main camera with 48+64+48MP sensors, and two 20MP and 32MP selfie cameras. The smartphone has a 4805 mAh battery with 67W fast charging capability and also supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, stereo speakers, USB Type-C 3.1, infrared port and NFC.

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition will be available in the US for $1900, while European prices will be announced on 27 August.
