Samsung has started rolling out a new security update for its mobile devices and among the first to receive it is the first smartphone in the Fan Edition series - the Galaxy S20 FE with Snapdragon processor.

Here's What We Know

The update is available for the AT&T carrier model and has the build number G781USQSIHXG1. Since this smartphone is almost 4 years old, the August update only brings security fixes for the Galaxy S20 FE.

Installing the August update is important because it addresses a critical vulnerability that affected Android smartphones and tablets back in June. At that time, Google provided a generic patch and now Samsung has rolled out the patch to Galaxy devices.

Other variants of the S20 FE model, including the Exynos version, should also start receiving the new update soon.
