Samsung has started actively updating its smartphones to the current security patch for August and now it has been revealed that the new software has started arriving on the foldable Galaxy Fold 3, Fold 4 and Fold 5 smartphones.

Here's What We Know

The US is the first country where the update for these models has started appearing. It's available for unlocked Fold 4 and Fold 5 devices, as well as some carrier-locked variants of the Fold 3. The updates for the Galaxy Fold 3, Fold 4 and Fold 5 can be identified by build numbers F926USQS7IXG6, F936U1UES6FXGJ and F946U1UES4CXG6 respectively.

The August update is significant because it addresses the critical CVE-2024-32896 vulnerability, which attackers can exploit to bypass security and gain increased control of the device. The vulnerability was initially thought to affect only Pixel devices, but Samsung later confirmed that Galaxy devices are also at risk.
