The Apple Journal app was introduced last year with iOS 17.2. It is quite basic compared to other alternatives on the market, but things may change with a new patent filed by Apple.

Here's What We Know

The document shows that the company plans to deeply integrate Journal with Apple Intelligence.

Apple Intelligence will be able to improve the suggestions of memories, which are currently based on photos, music, and places visited by users. In the future, the app may more actively suggest recording memories, for example, after a workout or photo shoot.

In addition, integration with the calendar and reminders will allow you to create recordings based on scheduled events.

However, these innovations may not appear until iOS 18, and artificial intelligence features are likely to be available in a limited mode at first.
