Take-Two continues to insist that simultaneous release of games on major platforms and subscription services is "not sustainable"

In recent years, we've seen many publishers release their games simultaneously on both platforms and subscription services (mainly Game Pass), but there is still one major company that has not adopted this practice - Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar and 2K. It claims that such a business model simply does not make sense for its approach and it seems that Take-Two will not change its mind in the near future.

In a conversation with GamesIndustry, when it came to Game Pass, and more specifically, whether the release of a big game like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Game Pass will change consumer habits, Strauss Zelnick said:

"I think that offering a frontline title with a premium price in a subscription service, day and date, will push consumers to that subscription service for at least a period of time. ".

However, Zelnick says that Take-Two still won't offer any of its premium, flagship titles on a subscription basis on release day, implying that he doesn't think it's "rational".
