Anbernic is gearing up to launch a new retro gaming console, the RG40XX V.

Here's What We Know

The device features a 4-inch IPS display with 640 x 480 pixel resolution and a vertical design. Inside the console is a powerful chipset, presumably the Allwinner H700, which allows you to emulate games for the Dreamcast, Nintendo 64 and PlayStation 1.

The RG40XX V also features a 3,200mAh battery, like the RG40XX H. Unlike the horizontal version, the new console lacks a single joystick but has a pair of shoulder buttons and a microSD card slot. Anbernic will offer the RG40XX V in white and black translucent colours with RGB backlighting. The console is expected to go on sale later this month, although the exact date and price have not yet been announced. For reference, the RG40XX H model sells for $94.99.
