TikTok updates messenger: group chats and custom stickers
TikTok continues to expand the functionality of its platform by adding new features for private messaging. Users can now create group chats with up to 32 people.
Here's What We Know
This allows you to start conversations with multiple users at once, share videos and comment in real time. However, group chats will not be available for users aged 13 to 15, and there will be restrictions for teenagers aged 16 to 17. For example, teens will only be able to join group chats if there is at least one mutual friend in the group.
TikTok is also adding the ability to use stickers in private messages. Users will be able to create and upload their own stickers, as well as use existing ones to react to messages and videos. These innovations are aimed at improving interaction between users and giving them more control over their communication. TikTok also provides tools to mute and block, as well as the ability to complain about individual messages or entire groups if they violate the platform's rules.
