Google has unveiled its new Pixel 9 series, and among the key updates is the introduction of an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor from Qualcomm. This sensor is already known for its use in Samsung Galaxy flagship devices.

Here's What We Know

In previous Pixel models, such as those using optical sensors, users have experienced some problems with fingerprint scanners. Google has decided to change the situation by switching to a new ultrasonic sensor, which the company claims is 50% faster than previous models.

Qualcomm confirmed that the Pixel 9 uses their 3D Sonic Gen 2 sensor, which is one of the fastest ultrasonic sensors on the market. Although the exact version of the sensor for the Pixel 9 has not yet been disclosed, the same series is used in the Galaxy S24 devices.

The new Pixel 9 series is already available for pre-order.
