Baykar has tested the Kemankes 2 smart cruise missile for Bayraktar Akinci, Bayraktar TB-2 and Bayraktar TB-3 UAVs

Turkish company Baykar has conducted the first tests of its new Kemankes 2 smart cruise missile.

This was told by the press service of the company. A car was used as a platform, but in the future the missile will be carried by drones Bayraktar Akinci, Bayraktar TB-2 and Bayraktar TB-3.

After the car accelerated to the required speed the missile took off and travelled a distance of 200 km. According to the manufacturer, the Kemankes 2 can stay in the air for up to 1 hour.

The missile is equipped with a jet engine and an optical guidance system with AI. Thanks to this, it can recognise targets even in poor weather conditions. It has a claimed cruising speed of Mach 0.6 and an operating altitude of 8200 metres. The Kemankes 2 weighs 70kg. Of this, 20kg is the combat part.
