YouTube has begun experimenting with recommending longer videos in YouTube Shorts feeds. This test is available to a limited number of users and aims to improve the detection of longer videos in a section that usually features shorter clips.

Here's What We Know

As part of the test, users can see a mix of short and long videos on the watch page and in the Shorts feed. YouTube is actively collecting feedback on this experiment to see how effective and useful it is for users. Ironically, YouTube Shorts was originally created as a response to the popularity of TikTok with its short videos and now the platform is trying to integrate longer formats.

It's not yet known who exactly is participating in the testing, but Google promises to keep a close eye on the feedback and possibly make changes based on the findings. The move could change the perception of YouTube Shorts and offer users a new experience when interacting with content.
