ChromeOS 127 update: Enhanced PDF capabilities and read-aloud feature
This month, Google will release ChromeOS 127, a minor update for Chromebook users that will be available in the coming weeks.
Here's What We Know
In the update, the Gallery app is now able to delete or reorder PDF pages using the mouse or keyboard shortcuts.
It also adds an OCR AI feature that uses machine learning to extract, split, and divide PDF documents. This will allow visually impaired and blind users using screen readers to read previously inaccessible documents.
ChromeOS 127 also introduces a new read-aloud feature in reading mode. This option offers high-quality text-to-speech conversion with playback control.
Additionally, the video call control panel adds status indicators for noise cancellation, live subtitles, re-lighting, and background blur.
ChromeOS now supports call control buttons on compatible Bluetooth headsets, allowing you to answer, end, mute, and unmute calls.
