Paradox Interactive announced the next major update for the popular space 4X-strategy Stellaris.

Here's What We Know

The update will be called Cosmic Storms and it fully reflects the theme of the update - the developers are significantly changing the mechanics of space storms, making them more diverse, interesting and visually beautiful.

Eight new types of storms will appear in the game and each of them will affect the player's actions and abilities. For example, a strong storm can cause a serious earthquake on one of the planets, as a result of which valuable minerals or lost treasures will rise to the surface.

The mechanics of space storms has not satisfied the developers for a long time and now they finally realise their ideas.

Several weather-related mechanics will be added to the game, for example, there will be objects that increase the probability of a space storm or, on the contrary, decrease it.

When We Can Expect It

Cosmic Storms update will be part of the eighth season of Expansion Pass and will be released on the 10th of September, and the developers will tell more about it on the 22nd, 29th of August and 5th of September.
