Lockheed Martin has announced that its global fleet of fifth-generation F-35 fighters now exceeds 1,000 aircraft.

Here's What We Know

The F-35 is currently in service in 19 countries, and the number is expected to grow.

In Europe, the F-35 has significantly enhanced NATO's defence capabilities. The F-35's presence is also expanding in the Indo-Pacific region, where it is becoming a key asset for the air forces of US allies, as well as for the US itself at its bases in the region.

Lockheed Martin stressed that this was possible thanks to dedicated employees and the support of industrial and government partners. The company works with more than 1,500 high-tech suppliers around the world to produce and support the F-35 fleet.

With the global fleet now numbering more than 1,000 units, the F-35 programme is poised for continued growth. Lockheed Martin and its partners are focused on ensuring that the latest fighter continues to meet the demands of modern military operations, providing allied forces with a technological edge in the skies.
