Invisible to EW: FPV drone on fibre optics presented in China
The Chinese company Skywalker has shown the first FPV drone controlled by fibre-optic cable.
Here's What We Know
The company said that its drones can fly on fibre optics for 20 kilometres. In addition, depending on the needs of the drone, they have also developed reels with a cable length of 1.5 and 10 km. The first one weighs 1.1 kg, and the second one - 2.3 kg.
"The fibre-optic FPV remote control, which does not allow any interference, is stable and reliable," the company explained.
It is worth noting that today there are two ways to fight FPV drones: direct destruction or electronic warfare. A drone detector can detect a drone by its characteristic radio signals
However, FPV drones, which are controlled via fibre-optic cable, are absolutely immune to electronic warfare. In addition, it cannot be detected by a detector due to the absence of radio control and video transmission signals. And, interestingly, the operator gets an almost perfect picture on his monitor.
