Samsung is considering using titanium for the back plate of the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim foldable device.

Here's What We Know

This solution could improve the durability and reduce the weight of the new Fold 6 Slim compared to previous models that used stainless steel or carbon fibre to protect the back plate. However, the use of titanium may rule out S Pen support as the material could interfere with the digitizer needed to recognise the stylus.

Some components of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim have already gone into mass production and Samsung is expected to make a final decision on the back panel material soon. The device is scheduled to launch later this year, but it is likely to be available only in China and South Korea.

These changes could also find their way into Samsung's next generation of foldable devices, such as the Galaxy Fold 7, making this update particularly interesting for potential buyers.
