Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 mobile processor

Qualcomm has announced a new mid-range chip for mobile devices.

Here's What We Know

Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 delivers 20% faster CPU performance, 40% faster GPU, 30% faster AI performance and 12% overall power savings over the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip. The power saving on the CPU side alone is 45%.

The processor has one Prime core clocked up to 2.5GHz, three Performance cores clocked up to 2.4GHz and four Efficiency cores clocked up to 1.8GHz. The novelty supports up to 16GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

Thanks to a dedicated NPU AI Engine, the chip has generative artificial intelligence capabilities on the device. It also captures photos up to 200 MP and video up to 4K HDR. Spectra Triple ISP enables simultaneous photo and video capture, ultra-fast parallel processing and smooth zooming. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 smartphones powered by Snapdragon 7s can come with 144Hz FHD+ screens, as well as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.

When We Can Expect It

The first devices with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip will hit the market by the end of 2024.
