Firaxis studio held a detailed gameplay demonstration of 4X-strategy Sid Meier's Civilisation VII, where they revealed a number of important details.

Here's What We Know

Civilisation VII will be the biggest game in the series and, as it was already announced, will be released on PC and consoles simultaneously for the first time in its history.

In terms of visual style, the game is in the middle between the realism of the fifth part and the cartoonishness of the sixth.

All buildings, units and, in general, the map will be more detailed and each nation will have unique advantages and disadvantages. For the first time in Sid Meier's Civilisation, the player will control not a whole nation, but a separate chain of states, which he (the nation) formed during its history.

There will be three time eras in Civilisation VII: Antiquity, the Age of Discovery, and the present day, and at each stage players will have different goals, priorities, features, and gameplay options. The leader of a nation can become not only a military man or a politician, now this option will be available to scientists, philosophers and other representatives of the intellectual community.

The combat system will remain unchanged from the sixth part, but the developers will add more details to it to make the army's actions look more lively and realistic.

When We Can Expect It

Sid Meier's Civilisation VII will be released on 11 February on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

Buyers will be offered three editions with different content - pre-order is already open.
