Cult RPG in a new way: bloggers showed a walkthrough of the Gothic 1 Remake demo - the game looks great

THQ Nordic came to gamescom 2024 with a demo of the cult role-playing game Gothic (2001).

Visitors, journalists and bloggers had time to familiarise themselves with it and started publishing their videos.

Here's What We Know

Videos from different authors allow to estimate technical execution and general gameplay mechanics of the updated game, and at first glance Alkimia Interactive studio did a great job. The exciting and dark atmosphere of Gothic hasn't gone anywhere, but the game doesn't feel outdated. Yes, it doesn't reach the quality of graphics and visual effects up to the top blockbusters, but it looks quite worthy.

The developers kept all the features of Gothic, including the story, quests, high difficulty, main characters, locations and enemies, which do not forgive mistakes, but expertly improved all these elements and competently supplemented them with modern technologies and features.

When We Can Expect It

It is still unknown when Gothic Remake will be released.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
