Apple has significantly adjusted its plans to release a MacBook with a flexible screen. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the launch of the device has been delayed for more than a year due to technical difficulties with the display and mechanical parts. Initially, mass production was planned to start in the first half of 2026, but now it has been postponed to the end of 2027 or even 2028.

Here's What We Know

Apple has also abandoned the idea of using a 20.25-inch foldable screen, opting instead for an 18.8-inch panel. This decision was made amidst issues with the reliability of the hinge mechanism and the visible crease on the screen at the bending point.

Kuo also said that we should not expect a foldable iPad anytime soon, despite rumours of a possible release in 2025. The analyst noted that the company's current plans do not include such a device. Apple is likely to focus on developing a foldable MacBook before moving on to other devices with flexible screens.
