Google Maps has unveiled an updated interface for iOS users, optimising the bottom navigation bar.

Here's What We Know

It now includes three tabs instead of five: Explore, You, and Contribute. The Go tab has been removed, but its functions have been moved to the new You tab, where the Saved Trips list is also available. The "Saved" tab is now called "You", retaining the bookmark icon. It also now houses the "Notifications" and "Messages" tabs that were previously in the "Updates" tab, which has been removed.

The update makes the Google Maps interface cleaner and more streamlined. The new design is available in iOS version 6.129.1 of the app. If you don't notice the changes, you should close the app and open it again.
