Jon Weisnewski, the lead character designer for the heroic shooter Concord, recently revealed on social media that the game has been in development for about eight years, with his personal involvement in the development lasting almost five years. This suggests that work on the game began around 2016, during the peak of the heroic shooter craze, driven by the success of the original Overwatch.

Here's What We Know

It's worth noting that this timeline likely includes a significant pre-production phase, as Firewalk Studios, the developer of Concord, was only fully established in 2018. Nevertheless, the game's development has been extensive, which is understandable given the challenges involved in creating a heroic shooter.

Wajsniewski also emphasised the team's commitment to long-term support for the game, stating: "We are ready to work on it for many years to come."

Where To Play

Concord is available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
