At gamescom 2024, publisher Kalypso Media and Claymore Game Studios presented an overview gameplay trailer of the tactical game Commandos: Origins, which should revive the once cult franchise, released in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Here's What We Know

In an interesting video the developers made a direct comparison of Commandos: Origins with the very first part of the series. The shown footage demonstrates that the new game will surely be a real gift for the fans of the once cult franchise, as almost all key mechanics of the first games will be presented in Commandos: Origins, and the quality of graphics and visual effects corresponds to the modern standards.

Commandos fans will easily recognise several characters from the saboteur squad, who despite the passage of time, more than 20 years later looks much better.

Recall, in Commandos: Origins players will have to take control of a squad of unique characters and conduct military operations in the rear of the Nazi army. These will be the tasks of eliminating officers, sabotage, reconnaissance, stealing documents and saving important people.

Commandos: Origins will offer a variety of locations, from the Arctic ice to the sands of Africa. The game will offer co-operative play, both online and on the same screen.

When We Can Expect It

Commandos: Origins will be released in 2024 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and will immediately appear in the Xbox Game Pass catalogue.
