A story trailer of the unusual game The Stone of Madness from the developers of Blasphemous has been unveiled
Spanish studio The Game Kitchen - the author of two gloomy metroidvania Blasphemous - revealed the release date of its new unusual game The Stone of Madness, made in the style of paintings by the XVIII century artist Francisco Jose de Goya.
Here's What We Know
The Stone of Madness story trailer was unveiled at gamescom 2024, which revealed that the game will centre on five previously unrelated prisoners in a prison in the Pyrenees. Events are set in the 18th century during the Inquisition.
The player will have to help the prisoners to escape from the prison, for which it is necessary to solve puzzles, search for clues, competently plan all actions and switch between characters to use their unique skills.
An interesting nuance of The Stone of Madness will be the possibility of deterioration of mental state of characters and the player needs to control the mental health of protagonists, so that they don't panic and keep their sanity.
The game will feature two story campaigns with unique goals and objectives.
When We Can Expect It
The Stone of Madness is expected to release in early 2025 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
