A recent leak from a well-known Digital Chat Station informant indicates that MediaTek may release its new flagship Dimensity 9400 chipset earlier than usual. The company usually unveils its top processors in the last quarter of the year, but this time the announcement could take place as early as mid-October.

Here's What We Know

However, the release of devices based on Dimensity 9400 is likely to take place earlier than the debut of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is scheduled for 21 October. According to rumours, the Vivo X200 or Oppo Find X8 series equipped with the new MediaTek chip may hit the market before the Xiaomi 15, which will use the new processor from Qualcomm.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 phones are also expected to hit the market in November or December. Additionally, it is noted that Qualcomm is working on a mid-range device with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, but there are no specific details about the model yet. The leak also mentions the possible release of the Dimensity 8400 chipset for a slightly lower price segment.

In terms of performance, the Dimensity 9400 will reportedly be manufactured using a 3nm process, which will provide improved performance and reduced power consumption.

The new processor will be based on the Cortex-X925 core architecture, which will allow for up to 30% increase in single-core performance compared to its predecessor and consume 30% less power than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

In addition, the Dimensity 9400 will be the first chip to use Samsung's latest LPDDR5x memory with a speed of 10.7Gbps, the fastest in the industry.
