An integral part of the Xbox stand at gamescom 2024 was the ambitious 4X strategy game Ara: History Untold.

Oxide Games offered event attendees a demo of the game, but those who couldn't make it to Cologne can find out more about the game thanks to a new video.

Here's What We Know

Xbox Game Studios Executive Producer Matt Turnbull went through the demo and commented on it.

In the trial, there were 10 of 30 nation leaders to choose from, each with individual advantages and disadvantages, 50 moves to complete, which takes about 30 minutes of game time, and the largest map accommodated 36 players.

One of the main features of Ara: History Untold will be an unusual for similar games system on the order of actions. In fact, players make their moves simultaneously, and the game's artificial intelligence determines which actions should be performed first.

In each game Ara: History Untold there will be three acts, each of which will be divided into four technological epochs and as the player develops his nation, learns new technologies and advances - he is awarded prestige points, and if they are not enough - the player will not be able to move to the next act, and his nation will cease to exist.

When We Can Expect It

Ara: History Untold will be released on the 24th of September on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store) and will be available on PC Game Pass. Eventually it is planned to be released on Xbox.
