BioWare has published a detailed gameplay trailer of the role-playing game Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

This time the developers demonstrated the abilities and capabilities that the character of the "Warrior" class will get in the late stage of the game.

Here's What We Know

The first thing that catches the eye is a completely new combat system, which is not at all similar to the past parts of Dragon Age, but much closer to modern action games, such as Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The player faces a huge number of opponents, can hit them with different blows, use special skills, dodge, block or parry blows, as well as order companions to carry out auxiliary actions.

The developers showed the equipment selection system, which allows you to flexibly adjust the character to your liking, for example, the Warrior with a sword and shield is excellent in defence, and if you arm him with a two-handed weapon - his blows will be as destructive as possible.

BioWare also showed an updated tactical pause mode, which became even more important in The Veilguard, as the player can assign only three abilities to the character's hotkeys, and the rest of his skills, as well as the abilities of his companions, are used during pauses.

Overall, Dragon Age: The Veilguard looks very good, but there is a high probability that fans of the series will not accept such drastic changes to the combat system and the overall style of the games.

When We Can Expect It

Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released on 31 October on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

The game's system requirements have already been published.
