Ukraine has been subjected to the largest air attack ever, with air defence forces shooting down 102 missiles and 99 attack UAVs.

On the morning of 26 August, Russia launched the most massive airstrike on Ukraine since the start of the war.

Here's What We Know

The army of the aggressor country used 236 objects of air defeat: 127 missiles and 109 attack drones - this was reported by the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, General Mykola Oleshchuk.

With the help of strategic aviation and submarines, Russia fired:

  • 3 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;
  • 6 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
  • 77 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • 28 Kalibr cruise missiles;
  • 3 Kh-22 cruise missiles;
  • 10 Kh-59/X-69 guided missiles;
  • 109 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs.

Ukraine's air defence forces destroyed 201 out of 236 air targets: 102 missiles (out of 127) and 99 strike UAVs.

According to experts, the cost of the means of destruction used by Russia is $1.2-1.3bn, which is also a record for 2.5 years of full-scale war.

As always, the strikes of the terrorist state were aimed at civilian and energy infrastructure. Kyiv hydroelectric power plant was seriously damaged, which left millions of subscribers in Ukraine without electricity.
