Already in October, we will go to the foggy city of Silent Hill again, as Bloober Team is preparing to release a remake of the horror game Silent Hill 2. Akira Yamaoka, the composer of the original game, returned to create the soundtrack and told us more about the music in the game.

Here's What We Know

Akira wrote that he reworked all the original tracks and even wrote new ones. After 25 years, his approach to music has changed, so his work on the game reflects these changes, combining his past passion with today's sound.

Finally, the composer noted that working on the remake challenged him like never before.

We would like to remind you that Silent Hill 2 remake takes 16 hours to complete, which is twice as long as the original, so the game could not do without new compositions.

When We Can Expect It

Silent Hill 2 comes out on 8 October on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Flashback

After receiving a letter from his late wife, James sets off in the hope of seeing her again in the city with which they have fond memories: Silent Hill. There, by the lake, he meets a woman who looks very much like her. But what really brought him to the town?

One of the features of the horror remake will be the standard third-person view. The game will also rebuild the combat system and improve facial animations to better convey the emotions of the characters.

The game is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5 game engine. Along with this, they are using Lumen for lighting and Nanite for level design. All this will help to update the foggy city and enhance its atmosphere.
