PlayStation 5 and its accessories to rise in price in Japan in September: standard console will cost $90 more

In September, the PlayStation 5 and accessories such as the DualSense gamepad will go up in price, but this applies only to Japan.

Here's What We Know

Starting from 2 September, the PlayStation 5 console will cost 79,980 yen ($550), which is 13,000 yen ($90) more than the current price of 66,980 yen ($460).

The console without a disc drive will also rise in price by 13,000 yen, from 59,980 yen ($415) to 72,980 yen ($505).

The DualSense gamepad will cost 11,480-11,980 yen ($80-$83). Currently, it can still be purchased for 9,480-9,980 yen ($65-$68).

And the price increase has not spared the PlayStation Portal, which will now cost 34,980 yen ($240), which previously cost 29,980 yen ($205).
