Journalists from major gaming publications got a chance to see a demo of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, which will be a remake of the 2004 cult stealth action game by Hideo Kojima.

Trailers from Konami are highly appreciated by MGS fans and give hope that the updated game will not disappoint gamers. Well, media representatives share this opinion.

Here's What We Know

Journalists went through 90 minutes of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and published their impressions. They noted that the game is a complete and even sometimes too fanatical remake of MGS 3. The developers left all key mechanics, story, dialogues, characters and other elements of the game unchanged, but significantly improved their technical execution and brought the action game closer to modern standards.

With the help of advanced technology, re-recorded sound and two control layouts (classic and modern), the developers hope not only to interest fans of the original game, but also to attract a new audience to the franchise.

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater loads very quickly and movement between locations is virtually seamless, but to preserve the effect of the original game they are accompanied by a short dimming of the screen.

In the remake there is a huge number of settings that allow you to personalise the interface controls, difficulty, all sorts of indicators and hints in detail, and for players with disabilities there are also accessibility options.

Interestingly, in the new version of Snake Eater each wound of the main character remains with him until the end of the game, but it's not quite clear how this system is implemented in practice and whether it will affect the gameplay.

In general, journalists were very impressed with Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and have no doubt that the game will be liked by the public.

Some authors made an educated guess that the release date of the remake will be revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2024

The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
