Remedy can be proud: over 19 million people have played Control
On 27 August 2019, the action game Control from Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment was released. At first it was perceived as a standalone game, but later it became clear that the events of Control unfold in the Alan Wake universe, which only added interest to the game.
In honour of the game's five-year anniversary, the developers revealed how many people got acquainted with the story of Jesse Faden.
Here's What We Know
Remedy reported that 19 million people have familiarised themselves with Control in 5 years. But this figure does not correspond to the number of sold copies, because the game was given away for free and offered in PS Plus and Game Pass subscriptions.
Remedy also shared some fun stats: 19 million players have defeated 1.3 billion enemies-Hiss, players have tossed over 7 billion office items into the air in 5 years-thanks to the heroine's telekinetic abilities and have used the photo mode 38 million times.
In honour of the first anniversary of Control, actress Courtney Hope, who played the role of the main heroine, recorded a small message to the fans of the game, in which she shared her emotions.
