A new Chinese Dongfeng armoured vehicle has been spotted in Moscow. It is likely to be on the balance sheet of the Moscow metro.

Here's What We Know

A photo of the Dongfeng was posted on one of the Russian Telegram channels. The car was painted with the logo of the Moscow metro and painted black. However, for some reason, it does not have the logo of the Chinese automotive company Dongfeng Motor.

The armoured vehicle was delivered to Russia with an armoured turret, which is usually fitted with a heavy machine gun.

Prices for the Dongfeng start at $130,000, but with important options, the special vehicle will cost twice as much. In China, such an all-terrain vehicle is classified as an "anti-terrorist military vehicle" used by law enforcement agencies.

According to Russian media reports, the armoured vehicle was registered with the Moscow Metro as a civilian vehicle with "tractor" licence plates.

Armoured vehicle from Dongfeng Motor

Over the past four months, the Russian metro's transport security unit has received its fourth ballistic-protected vehicle: the first was the RIDA Buran, then the Z-STS Akhmat, then the Patrol, and now the Chinese Dongfeng has joined them.
