China is banning the sale of Apple's MagSafe wireless chargers from 1 September. The reason for the ban was the new rules of radio frequency management established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.

Here's What We Know

These rules restrict the use of certain frequencies for mobile and portable wireless chargers. Apple's MagSafe operates at 360 kHz, which is now banned in China. The new rules only allow the use of three frequency bands: 100-148.5 kHz, 6765-6795 kHz and 13553-13567 kHz. The maximum permissible transmission power is 80 watts.

The ban is aimed at preventing harmful interference to radio communications and maintaining order on the airwaves. Apple will now have to either change the frequency of its chargers for the Chinese market or stop selling them in the country. Products sold before the ban came into effect will not be affected.
