The mod editor for Frostpunk 2 will allow you to realise the most daring ideas: 11 bit presented the FrostKit toolkit and talked about its features
Studio 11 bit has confirmed that gamers have correctly understood the meaning of their cryptic teaser featuring a tyrannosaurus and a UFO.
Indeed, there will be an official toolkit for creating custom modifications in the urban strategy game Frostpunk 2.
Here's What We Know
In a new video Polish developers revealed that at the time of Frostpunk 2 release will be released and beta version of the programme called FrostKit.
At first, only selected mod creators will have access to FrostKit so that they can point out flaws that will be fixed before the programme is released to the public.
FrostKit will allow gamers to realise their wildest ideas and modify the game world with virtually no restrictions. 11 bit notes that users do not have to focus on the theme of the ice age, they will be able to add aliens, dinosaurs, ancient civilisations, natural disasters, in short, almost anything that comes to mind. The most important thing is that you don't need a deep knowledge of programming to realise your ideas.
The developers warn that the functionality of FrostKit will not be immediately in perfect condition, but they will do everything possible to provide gamers with the widest possible options.
The company representatives also stated that a similar toolkit was planned for the first part of Frostpunk, but due to technical reasons it was not possible to do so. However, since the sequel is created on Unreal Engine 5, now the studio has no obstacles to implement such plans.
It is not known when the full version of FrostKit will be released, but obviously the programme will be available only on PC.
When We Can Expect It
Frostpunk 2 will be released on the 20th of September. At first the game will be available only on PC, and later will be released on consoles as well, and will appear in the Game Pass catalogue from day one.
