Nearly $1bn contract: US buys large batch of Switchblade 600 attack drones

The US Department of Defence has ordered a large batch of Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones.

Information about this appeared on the website of the Ministry. We are talking about a contract for $ 990 million. The exact number of UAVs is not yet disclosed. It is also unknown when the first deliveries of systems will begin.

Flashback

Switchblade 600 is a barrage munition. It is an improved version of the Switchblade 300. The drone is capable of carrying a munition weighing up to 23kg and a Javelin-type anti-tank warhead. It boasts a range of up to 40 kilometres and a flight speed of 185 km/h. By the way, Ukraine has been actively using these drones on the battlefield since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion.
