Google is upgrading the built-in timer and stopwatch in Search. Both tools received a new bright and convenient design, as well as several new features.

Here's What We Know

You can now use them on both your computer and mobile device. To access these tools, just type "timer" or "stopwatch" in the search bar.

The timer used to default to five minutes, but now has a clean, centred display. New buttons have been added to quickly add 30 seconds, a minute, or five minutes. There's also a coloured circle that fills in as time elapses.

The stopwatch has also received an update - it has a coloured circle around the displayed time, similar to the one in the Android Clock app. However, the indicator around the circle completes its rotation every four seconds.

In addition, when the timer or stopwatch is paused, its colour changes from blue to orange to alert users to a long pause.
