Ubisoft's free-to-play shooter XDefiant was released at the end of May on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game managed to attract 8 million players in the first week, but according to rumours, the situation is not the best for the game now.

Here's What We Know

Tom Henderson reports that Ubisoft San Francisco has until the end of XDefiant Season 3 to improve the low number of players in the shooter. Ubisoft wants the number of players to increase, otherwise XDefiant risks losing support.

One of Henderson's sources said that the game is "struggling to reach 20,000 concurrent players across all platforms".

In his article, Tom also writes that the frustration within the studio is directed at the management, who refused to take responsibility for the project's shortcomings, which could have been avoided with a better studio culture.

So now we have to keep an eye on the situation around the shooter, as we are likely to see more news around it.
