Emergency in Germany: a powerful explosion occurred at the Troisdorf explosives factory

At 9-30 (CEST) today, a powerful explosion occurred at an explosives and fuse manufacturing facility in Germany.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred in Troisdorf (Nordrhein-Westfalen) at a facility of Diehl Defence, which owns two subsidiaries in Troisdorf - Dynitec and DynaEnergetics.

Two people were seriously injured in the explosion and have already been taken to hospital, no fatalities have been reported.

It is not yet known what caused the explosion, police have launched an investigation.

"The affected building was significantly damaged as a result of the incident, so our emergency services could not enter it", - said the head of the fire station Troisdorf.

Recall, in May in Berlin there was a large-scale fire at the plant Diehl Metal Applications (DMA), which produces components for military equipment.
