Google Translate now supports external displays on Pixel Fold and Galaxy Fold 6
Google Translate can now use external displays on foldable devices for Conversation Mode. Pixel Fold and Galaxy Fold 6 already support this feature.
Here's What We Know
Previously, users could only use the internal display to translate in Conversation Mode, which was not entirely convenient. Now, you can display one language on the outer screen and your own on the inner screen. This makes it much easier to communicate while translating.
Pixel Fold was one of the first devices to get this feature, but accessing it through Assistant was quite difficult. Now, Google has integrated this feature directly into the Translate app via a new shortcut in Conversation mode.
The feature is also available on the Galaxy Fold 6. However, it is not supported on other foldable devices such as the OnePlus Open or the Motorola Razr series. Theoretically, it should work on older generations of the Samsung Galaxy Fold series and on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold when it hits the market.
The feature was introduced in one of the latest updates to the app (version 8.16.77), which became available during the past week.
